Dedication

In Honor of Steven Reiss, Ph.D. (1947–2016)

This work is dedicated to the memory and legacy of Steven Reiss, Ph.D., a brilliant mind whose research reshaped our understanding of what truly drives human behavior.

Dr. Reiss graduated from Dartmouth College, earned his Ph.D. in psychology at Yale University, and completed his clinical internship at Harvard Medical School. A Fellow of both the American Psychological Association and the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, he was a trailblazer in the fields of anxiety disorders, developmental disabilities, intrinsic motivation, and the psychology of religion. As a Professor of Psychology at the University of Illinois at Chicago and The Ohio State University, his contributions were both profound and practical—changing lives through insight, science, and service.

With five national awards recognizing his research, clinical impact, and leadership, Dr. Reiss stood as an intellectual giant. But beyond accolades, his greatest gift to mankind was the development of a precise, accessible blueprint for understanding human motives. His work made it possible to decode behavior, improve relationships, and accelerate personal growth—not through guesswork or generalization, but through a framework grounded in empirical truth.

I hold the deepest respect and admiration for his lifetime of work. I believe that, in time, the Reiss Motivation Profile will revolutionize the way everyday people learn to understand themselves—and others—with clarity, compassion, and purpose.

His legacy is not just academic. It is deeply human. And this method, Invincible, would not exist without his foundation.
