About Tom Sotis

From Blood, Sweat, and Science: The Edge of Invincibility

Tom Sotis has been immersed in combat since 1969—fighting, training, bleeding, and studying his way to becoming one of the world’s most respected authorities on personal combat. With over 50 years of experience, he’s not just a coach—he’s a fighter who’s lived it in the ring, on the street, and across some of the world’s most dangerous environments.

Tom has trained extensively in empty-hand fighting systems for decades and holds instructor and master-level certifications in multiple martial arts. He’s trained and competed in boxing and kickboxing, with roots in Muay Thai and other striking arts. His foundation isn’t theory—it’s forged through years of hard sparring, ring fights, and violent encounters that left no room for fantasy or fluff.

He spent over a decade working nightclub security and bounty hunting, giving him firsthand, brutal insight into how real violence unfolds—and what actually works when the gloves come off and rules don’t apply. That experience didn’t just shape his tactics; it shaped his entire philosophy: survive, adapt, dominate.

Built for the Fight World

Tom’s training methods translate directly to the realities of MMA, Muay Thai, kickboxing, and boxing. He understands the mindset, pressure, and pain tolerance of fighters because he’s lived it—and because for 35+ years, he’s studied the science behind it.

As a certified Motivation Analyst and performance coach, Tom applies cutting-edge principles from psychology, behavioral science, and sports performance to build fighters from the inside out. His unique integration of motivational profiling helps fighters and coaches identify what drives them, what holds them back, and how to train smarter, recover better, and fight harder.

He is also the founder of AMOK Global: Use of Weapons, the world’s largest edged weapons training organization. While his knife work is elite, his system is about performance under pressure, no matter the weapon—or no weapon at all.
